This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have general management accountabilities.

Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise. They may undertake technical research and analysis and will often contribute to setting the strategic direction for a work area.

The qualification is suited to individuals who are responsible for the supervision and leadership of a team or work area (including by managing staff performance and making staffing decisions).

Employment Pathway

Graduates of the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business are equipped with specialised knowledge and skills suitable for skilled or paraprofessional roles in diverse business environments. According to the qualification information, typical employment pathways include roles that involve strategic management, high‑level administration, organisational leadership, and business planning.

Academic Pathways

The primary pathway from this qualification is to study further in at a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma level.

On completion of this qualification, candidates may choose to undertake the BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning), or other Advanced Diploma qualifications from the BSB Business Services Training Package or any other training package to further enhance their career opportunities in their chosen field.

 

Entry requirements

St Thomas College's entry requirements are as follows:

  • Students must be over 18 years of age,
  • Students must have completed an overseas equivalent of Year 12
  • Students must have either an IELTS score of 6.0 total or above with no band lower than 5.0 or
  • Paper based (PBT) TOEFL score of 550 or above or
  • Internet based (iBT) TOEFL score of 78 or above and must provide documentation to that effect.

AND

  • Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions).

Entry requirements will be checked at enrolment in line with the STC's Student entry requirements, selection, enrolment and orientation policy.

Assessment Methods

Assessments will be conducted through a combination of questions, report, case studies, role-plays and demonstrations
